What Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know about “The City Beautiful”
The City Beautiful has always been a magnet for incentive programs—especially those that include partners. With “ready-made” entertainment for majority of visitors, one is hard pressed to compete with Disney for a wow fact. So, our creativity was once again put to test when a South American client asked for an over-the-top program for a well-traveled group—a program that would not involve daily excursion to one of Disney theme parks.
To get the group’s adrenaline pumping, we first started with a skydiving exercise—and we didn’t even need to force them jump off a plane. We headed to Orlando’s indoor skydiving to let the group experience true free fall conditions, just like skydiving, without having to jump out of an airplane. iFLY's vertical wind tunnel creates a wall-to-wall cushion of air on which you can safely float. There was no parachute, no jumping and nothing attaching them to planet Earth. It was just the group and the air. The adrenaline rush was still flowing long after we had left the venue and headed to Johnnie’s Hideaway—an upscale restaurant but with a laid back atmosphere. The group loved and commented the restaurant’s Key West style architecture and awesome wooden tiki deck. We didn’t have to push hard for everyone to sample the signature dish: Giant Madagascar Shrimp De Johnnie’s.
